The Protruding Load Marker is a sign that is designed to be highly visible and long-lasting. Its purpose is to alert other drivers to the presence of protruding or overhanging goods on a large goods vehicle. It is constructed out of high-quality materials that are resistant to severe environmental conditions and rough handling, which ensures that it will continue to be effective and visible for a considerable amount of time. This Hazard Vehicle sign for overhanging protruding goods measures 1520 millimetres by 300 millimetres. When loaded goods overhang on either the front or the rear of an HGV or lorry, large goods vehicle markers are required to be used. This load marker sign does not have any reflective material on it. Marker boards are required to be used if the load extends beyond the sides of the vehicle either in the front or the back. Large goods marker boards are obligatory if either side of the vehicle has a lateral projection of 305 millimetres or more. These boards designed specifically for use in the United Kingdom. The following comes from the goverment website:The requirements relating to loads that overhang the front, rear or sides of vehicles are set out in regulations 81 and 82 of The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 (C&U), as amended.
